COMICON 2008, what a blast. For those who do not know what Comicon is, it's a gathering of all Medias that relate to the world of nerdiness and geekdom. For members of the MGYP/inspiration association, who went to this event in Sand Diego California only to get everything they expected. After standing a line that spanned almost 2 miles, we then realized we really should have registered as professionals, since we obviously qualify. When entering the exhibition hall to stop and see the horizon of booths, exhibits, storm troopers, bloggers and fan boys of all walks of life. Our 22+ hour drive had become worth the sleep deprivation and had been worth every second. The four of us had split our time between seeing the exhibits, seeing films, taking workshops, eating food (never pay $8 for a cheese burger, it's not worth it), and meeting celebrities you other wise would never meet. You can see Seth green (family, robot chicken and freshmen) and our own Eugene Capon (Nightmare Wonderland, Misguided Youth Productions) below. One of the best aspects of Comcion is the variety of costumes you see the fans or promoters wear. Everyday was something new and exciting, you could see the dedication of some of the fans, sleeping a in a bag over night to be the first ones in line for the heroes exhibit. This event would end with a party/rave and a masquerade that was well done by each candidate. We personally liked "we lost", a tribute to the losers of lord of the rings and "west side story in two minutes" by Avatar: the last air bender characters.
